I’m the girl behind @livefitandfree and I’ve made this blog to give a more in depth look at my journey.
My fitness journey all began when I realized that my life had gotten to the point where getting dressed was to cover up and eating was used to comfort. But then, just like that, I hit my limit. I started running in Fall of 2011 and my life flipped around.
Running has brought peace of mind, peace of body, and overall happiness to my life. It has made me see my body as a wonderful machine capable of great accomplishments rather than an imperfect shell. Last summer, running helped me get down to my lowest, healthy weight. Since 2011 I have completed numerous races including 5ks, 10ks, 15km, half marathons, 30kms, and even a marathon. It has become a part of my life that is now permanent.
Since shifting my mindset about my body, I’ve decided that my ultimate goal is to get abs. I am still running and seeing improvements, currently training for a marathon in January 2014. I am determined to achieve my goals and be the best person I can be in the best body I can have. I no longer focus on my weaknesses and flaws but instead on my strength and accomplishments. With a healthier mindset revolving around fitness and nutrition rather than thin and restriction I hope to live every day to the fullest.

Recently, I have made the switch to leave behind being vegetarian, which I was for 123 months/just over 10 years. It was quite a drastic move but one that I hope will solve some digestive and energy issues I’ve been struggling with for the past 2 years.
